ADVANTAGE
1. Billet aluminum wheels are much stronger than cast aluminum wheels for a couple of reasons. The first is that there are no porosity issues to have to worry about. Billet wheels are machined with a 5 axis endmill which precisely cuts the wheel from a solid piece of aluminum. This means that there is no chance of minute air bubbles being in the metal. The second is the metal material that can be selected to be used is a much stronger grade than the same cast material.On the whole,billet wheel is more durability than a cast wheel.It's a good news to a serious drag racer,because the billet material can provide a strength and reliability advantage that's essential at extremely high boost preasure.
2.Billet comp wheel is directly machined from a solid piece of aluminum,the design can be easily changed to alter the compressor characteristics,tested,redesigned,then remade better until a very efficient design is achieved.A cast wheel on the other hand is a rather lengthy process in designing and producing the cast, and making adjustments to perfect the aero is not as simply as it is with a billet wheel.
